Michael Flanagan

Staff page

I am a moviegoer.  I enjoy many types of film genres: human condition films (American Beauty, Magnolia), screwball comedies (Ghostbusters, Clue), art house comedies (The Big Lebowski, State and Main), and the standard drama-non-soap-opera flicks (The Shawshank Redemption, On the Waterfront).  I think that Russell Crowe won his Gladiator Oscar for The Insider.  I believe the cave in Empire is actually a ship.  Scream is not a good movie.  I like cheese.

          Assorted Nonsense

Favorite Actors: Liam Neeson, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson, Cate Blanchett

Least-Enjoyable Time at a Movie: Hoodlum, The Birdcage

Guilty Pleasure: Ahnuld Movies

Most-Oft-Quoted Line: "What did you do, Ray?"

Favorite Movie Food: Lightly buttered popcorn, Sour Cherries, cheese (you bring it with you!)

OUR OWN Michael Flanagan directing in NYC.

Michael is not only a movie lover and critic, not by a long shot.  He is an accredited editor of fiction and non-fiction, even technical non-fiction, and an excellent writer in his own right: he has written a novel, and numerous essays and short stories.  Mr. Flanagan is also a theatrical director (Rumors).
Keep an eye out for the name Michael Flanagan (a.k.a. Miguel La Quesoamante) when the credits roll after movies you enjoy; it will be showing up in the very near future.
