Wow! What a great ride! Exciting, fast paced, good
story line, good acting, and lots and lots of fun. There is so
much to this film; I want to see it again, and then sit and talk
more with Christian, Mike and Jason, Cedric and Mark; and beer and
burgers, of course.
It is my understanding that Steven Spielberg has had this idea
bouncing around in his head for some years, well, it came to life,
thanks to Dan McDermott (story and screenplay) and the other
writers, in a fantastic and compelling way. It is a good film
on so many levels.
From Holes to Chrystal with a few stops along the
way, which include Transformers, Shia LaBeouf has shown
himself to be a compelling actor - and the girls like him, too. In
Eagle Eye, he portrays a man who has been running through his life
in despair, while, unknowingly, he has been gathering the
experiences and knowledge he will need to complete the thing in life
that he was made to do, the thing that in the doing he will justify
his whole existence.
Jerry Shaw is a excellent, moral and hope giving example for
those wondering through life believing that every breath they take
is futile. How many teenagers, and even adults do we see in
our lives who's spirit languishes in their hopeless and dreadful
view of themselves. Jerry shows us all that we must stand up and
find those things that we must do, those things we were made to do,
that which is known as our purpose.
Through mind blowing scene after scene we watch fighting for
self, slowly change to a man fighting self-lessly; right to the vey
end.

Michelle Monaghan... let me say this about Michelle
Monaghan, she is a woman who should always be shown in close up and
from every angle. Her features are most beautiful: her lips
and nose, her chin - da Vinci would have painted her portrait had
she been known to him, and today it would be a huge treasure.
Michelle gave us the perfect Rachel Holloman, each side of Rachel
was excellent: the ex-wife we only saw briefly, but in that one
scene she told us volumes; the loving mother; the desperate mother;
the mother who would almost do anything to save her child.
Almost anything, that is, except for murder; as the young, single
woman having a man over for her son's birthday party Michelle showed
us Rachel's vulnerability , her hopes and desires, her 'I am the
pretty woman down the street from you who goes to work every day and
raises her child with love and hope.' There is always that
hope in Rachel, behind the terror she feels, her hope shows through.
Rachel is a wonderful character, and she is excellently given to us.
It is always enjoyable seeing Rosario Dawson, can you believe
this is the same woman from
Clerks II &
Sin City? Billy Bob Thornton
is another of Hollywood's "can do anything" actors. he was
great.
This is a go see. Don't have expectations, just go see it.
Let it bring you and and enjoy the ride; this is a movie, not a
religion, you go there for fun.
I'm getting the DVD, but I have to see it on the big screen
again.
