Joe De Matteo Solid |
email between Joe De Matteo and Christian De Matteo about this
movie, which Christian left for Joe to see.
Hi, I finished that depressing $%#@ing movie. You'd better
take it back before I have to commit myself due to terminal
depression.
See any good comedies lately?
I HAVEN'T!
Joking aside. It was good, well acted, but incredibly
depressing.
Also, I think I've gone out with all the women types in
the film, with one difference, the woman in NY was
depressing and selfish, too.

CAUTION - SOME PLOT AND ENDING POINTS DISCUSSED
I am laughing my ass off right now!
You need to publish that email as a review for the movie. I
had an issue with the ending in that I didn't think it
satisfied the "why" he was talking about very well. The fact
is that he was disturbed and that should have been
acknowledged.
Ryan Gosling, however, is an excellent actor and I
think is on his way to a big career.

Hey,
You know, you're getting like Al, you don't include the
original email with your reply. For a brain dead individual
like me, that presents a real problem.
I think the whole thing was explained very well by the sum of
two scenes.
1. The set up: she wanted him to say
everything would be alright. He refused because he had no
reason to believe it would be alright, nor did he have any
personal power to effect an outcome.
2. After the kid's bike was stuck in
the fallen tree, he hugged the kid and told him everything
would be alright. He had a solution, he had discovered a
solution that he could implement.
I kept waiting to find out if he applied the same solution to
Mrs. Calderon. Or did she get the gleam back in her eyes
after what they hinted happened after they pushed us
out, what do you think?
