Super
Bart Freundlick has written and directed a film,
seemingly made for David Duchovny. This is the
David Duchovny I've come to know and enjoy after Fox
Mulder. And, I like this redheaded counter
part much, much better than the last. What can
anyone say about Julianne Moore?
Whatever it is, I'll listen - hope it comes with
graphics. Yes! I'll admit it, i'm a
Julianne Moore fan of the first order. |
| Tom and Rabecca (Duchovny and
Moore) are one talented couple. Except they
have a problem, and they both know it enough to
visit the theropist at least once a year. He's the
bad boy that never grew up - and also wants too much
sex. She the sensible wife who is too busy,
tired, adult, for very much sex.
Sensible wife to her husband, sensible big sister
to her brother Tobey (Crudup), who happens to be
Tom's best friend. Moore may very well not be
playing sensible wife as much as mommy, and to both
men.
Add to the mix Elaine (Maggie Gyllenhaal), Tobeys
long time live in girlfriend, who realizes she wants
a baby, a family, which means a husband, and you
have a great character study.
I loved it! |
