Well I have to say that after viewing 10,000 B.C., that I wasn't
entirely disappointed. I must admit that coming into it I wasn't
sure what I was going to get. If the production would prove to be
something note worthy and imagination moving or if it were going to
disintegrate into another piece of prehistoric dramatization,
lacking in story, content and imagination. After having been the
unfortunate test subject for so many moronic or cadaver boring
pieces in the past I'm certainly glad that 10,000 B.C. didn't let me
down.
The story was mystical, touching, dramatic, captivating and
engaging. Even my wife who is totally not into such movies who I
tricked into seeing it with me had to admit that she liked it and
hoped that there would be a sequel. I only wish that there had been
more creatures, a greater use of environment and all the other
things that draw you out to see a prehistoric movie. It could have
actually been a movie about anything else other than prehistoric
culture, animals and life during that time. This movie seemed to go
in the opposite direction of a historical dramatization, but to an
extreme that siphoned away from some of the really great moments
that weren't capitalized upon during the movie.
One such case was in the scenes with the saber tooth
and the giant Ostrich creatures. However all in all it's a fun
movie, one to take your date on and feel satisfied that you got your
dose of testosterone and at the same time created an atmosphere of
sensitivity that your sweetie can connect with. I suggest to anyone
that they take out the time to see this movie, explore the different
relationships it highlights and disappear in a
different kind of fairy tale.
See you in Bedrock,
I
like what I see so far. This is the kind of
project that can be great or Pathetic.
They've got 2 months, according to their time line,
