HUGE
Quite simply one of the best action movies of
all time. This film is so well crafted it should be
studied by modern action film makers. The characters
are all diverse interesting and real, their lives full of the
disappointments and broken dreams of real people, their goals
are not lofty or superficial but genuine and heart warming. You
are dragged hypnotically into the peasants lives but also feel
enormous empathy for the Ronin class of samurai the seven
characters of the title embody.
When the action comes it is fresh modern and breath taking, the
sequence in the rain stands out as one I will never forget.
The slow motion in the first action sequence against the
kidnapper was ground breaking for it's time and still looks
fresh. Inspiring, per his biography, Sam Peckinpah
and many others.
If you like action movies, or you just like motion pictures,
watch this film, if you want to make movies, watch it again and
again. |
