To often a movie shows all its horror in the trailer or TV
previews. It sets the scene for a major disappointment at the
theater (Hostel). Fortunately there are still writers, producers and
actors that when they put their talents into one script a great
horror movie is born. Saw takes you in its grip with the first scene
and does not let go until the credits role.
Not since The Sixth Sense has a movie kept me at the edge of my
seat and then delivered an ending that not only surprised me but
allowed the entire movie to fall into place. And this was done
without leaving the audience confused until the end.
If I had to find a complaint about this movie it would be that
Danny Glover seems almost held back in his ability as an actor. What
a bonus to a great movie to have a veteran actor such as Mr. Glover
in its cast. From the horror scenes that make you curl up in your
seat to the impressive acting shown by the entire cast, Saw delivers
an almost perfect horror film.
If! you have not seen this movie I suggest you get
the unedited version, popcorn (to throw on the floor when you jump),
and someone to hold onto. Do it tonight!!
