Ok so I got to go to my movie after much persuasion and guilt
(parents aren't the only ones who know how to use it) and
practically dragging her ass out of the house since she wouldn't
let me drive the car. But it's ok because it was soo worth it.
OMG! Joel Schumacher knows what he is doing. Phantom of the
Opera was amazing and I hope that everyone gets a chance to see
it. I won't drag the boyfriend to see it because I'm not sure he
would really be all into it or anything, but anyone who can sit
through a 2 and a half hour movie that can drag at points so
should just for the visual awesomeness of it. I did have some
pet peeves about it though and since I don't write reviews or
anything for papers I thought I would write them here, so here
they are.

1. Christine's clothes in the "Phantom of the
Opera" scene. She is supposedly changing or something and I
think it was for bed but she comes out from behind the
screen in thigh-highs, a corset, some kind of undies, and a
lace robie thing. I know that I always wear a corset to bed
when I want to be more comfy.
2. Emmy Russum's facial features. The girl is beautiful, has
a beautiful voice and can really belt it out, but man does
she always have the same look on her face. First, she has
the saddest eyes I have ever seen. Then she has this look on
her face that is a combo between confusion and curiosity and
it is always there. She has no other facial expression.
3. The Phantom in general. I'm sorry but I didn't think that
he was that good. And his teeth were really bothering me.
When you see the movie let me know if his teeth bother any
of you. If not I will explain it to you.
4. If I heard one more reprise of "Angel of Music" or "All I
Ask of You" I was gonna throw something at the screen.
Now some things I liked about it:
1. Raul (Patrick Wilson) - So hot and nice voice. Wish he
was in the movie more.
2. Minne Driver as Carlotta was awesome. I know she didn't
do her own singing (props to Margaret Preece), but she gave
the character a life I never even thought about.
3. Miranda Richardson. Way to be holding your own in the
movie that really has nothing to do with your character. She
was awesome.
4. Special effects and set were amazing but costumes were
eh.
Overall the movie was great. I gots to wrap this up now so
Merry Christmas Eve Eve and to all a good night |
