Ladder 49
Wimpy, what.
Keep your
expectations in check, get some good, crunchy popcorn, sit
down with your favorite lady and enjoy the show.
Except for a
Golden Satellite Award to Robbie Robertson for Best Original
Song, Ladder 49 is not an award winner; not even at Shamus’
Rent a Movie in Woodlawn (Little Ireland in The Bronx).
Ladder 49 has
some exciting action scenes, has good characters, a lot of
flames and explosions, and best of all, women seem to like it.
Just don’t you be too critical, you’ll be
disappointed.
If you saw the
trailer you know exactly what the film is like: stunted
dialogue and all. It
tries, tries so very hard, to be THE firefighter movie, but…
Well, it isn’t.
There are some great actors here, but no great
performances. However,
it’s still worth viewing, rather than rewatching another
movie you’re really not in the mood for.
