Lord,
I Wish She Was: The Girl Next Door
by Christian De Matteo
SUPER
Mike and I went to see
this because it was… well, it was free.
And Elisha Cuthbert, though possibly the most annoying TV
character ever on 24, is freaking hot.
Like,
really freaking hot.
Little
did we know we would be witnessing one of the funniest teen comedies
in some time, tying adolescent boy life and high school depression
together with sex farce, the porn industry, and crime.
Oh, and giving speeches on E.
And
Elisha Cuthbert if freaking hot.
Funny
from the opening montage of “high school memories” to our
meeting of main character Emile Hirsch (who, though I haven’t the
slightest idea who the hell he is, was great) running stark naked in
the street, the movie continuously throws new shocks at you.
The
coolest thing about the movie is that it gets everything you expect
from a teen sex farce and everything you saw in the previews out of
the way in the first 20 or so minutes… and then launches into
something completely different.
I won’t explain any of this so maybe you can have the same
shockingly fun experience I did, but this is not your usual American
Pie rip-off.
With more
plotlines than you can shake your member at (95% of which work
really well), two kick-ass buddies for our main character (one of
whom has the line, “I’m gonna do things to you I wouldn’t do
to a farm animal” - yeah,
that kind of humor), real life, honest to goodness porn stars, and
more false alarm, not-really-endings than the Return of the King,
the movie is an absolute winner.
Trust me, when the plot gets a little crappy and ridiculous
for about five minutes at about an hour in, hold out.
Our boy’s about to make attend a major, hoity-toity school
event while tripping. Funny, funny, sh*t.
Oh. And Elisha Cuthbert… is freaking hot.
