The Weinstein Company has been putting out some
cool films of late, Fanboys has the potential to be
another one. It's Halloween, 1998, a small group of
friends responding to a deathbed wish that would
have them drive out to George Lucas' Skywalker Ranch
to crash a showing of "Star Wars: Episode I --
The Phantom Menace" prior to its worldwide release.
Are they Star Wars
nerds? You-bet-cha.
Is it a road trip film?
Seems to be.
Am I looking forward to
this sophomoric episode in film watching? It
sure appears so.
Kristin Bell, lately of
Pulse and Roman, two small horror films, is the top
billed female in the film. Not so top-billed
is Jamie King (Blondie/Wendy from
Sin City,
Two for the
Money) will once again have a great deal of my
attention, if she has enough screen time.
Fanboys is scheduled for
release in August of 2007.
