| Fooly
Cooly, Furi-Kiri, or whatever you want to call it
is a winner. What is it about? If I
told you, it would basically give away the whole
story. Suffice to say that it is a bizarre
visual spectacle of an anime that is strangely
engrossing. It also features great artwork
and music that creates a distinctive young and
almost manic style that will captivate some and
repulse others. |
| So
what can I tell you about FLCL? Well, a boy
named Naota is getting romantic with his baseball idol of an
older brother's girlfriend when out of nowhere a
crazy girl on a motor scooter drives right into
him leaving a huge bump of his forehead.
This girl, Haruhara Haruko, then takes up
residence in his house as a housekeeper (in name
only). What is
her business with Naota? Can't
really tell you, but I will tell you that ever
since the accident, the boy gives birth to robots
right from his noggin where he was hit by the
scooter. This odd ability makes him of
particular interest to Haruko, as well as a
mysterious government agency headed by a guy with
giant false eyebrows (I love anime). Naota's
life will never be the same. |

|
| The
all-to-short series is rife with teen angst, puppy
love, and bizarre action. So is this
one for your friends who don't really don't like
anime to begin with? Probably not.
This is for the visual anime fan. It's for
those of us whose overactive imaginations can
handle a little kick of methodical madness and
creative mayhem every now and then.

you are [samejima mamimi]. usually quiet, but at
times flirtatious. you live in a private world, a dream world. Which FLCL Character Are You? brought to you by Quizilla
|
Well,
okay then. I don't think anyone would describe me as quiet,
but I am flirtatious and living in a dream world. Still... I'd
look pretty odd in a mini skirt.
What FLCL Character do you have the most
in common with?

| FLCL
(fooly cooly, furi kuri) is the best anime I've ever
seen. The animation is gorgeous, the music is excellent
and the plot...well there isn't one really but if there
was I'm sure it'd be awesome. The best part about this
anime is that you could watch it over and over and find
out new things about it. The more times you watch the
more you catch on to what's going on. |

| Sorry
guys but you just aren't looking hard enough. Furi Kiri DOES
have a plot, and it DOES all make sense... mostly. Everyone
thinks it is this absurdist comedy, but this is too
simplistic. Think SYMBOLIST rather than absurdist. Step
outside the box, dudes and increase your enjoyment of this
masterful anime tenfold. |
