RatingWimpy Review by: Mark Capitelli
The forces threatening peace have been quelled and the future is finally looking bright as the pieces of the enemies weapons of war burn in the atmosphere and light up the sky as shooting stars.  All the Gundam pilots embrace the new age of peace by sending their giant robots to be destroyed...well, almost all of them.  Soon enough, a new threat is born out of the ashes of the defeated enemy and the Gundam pilots must once again take up arms.  The Endless Waltz of war continues.
Well, I can't tell you how excited I was to see that they made a movie of Gundam Wing which was one of my favorite anime series at the time.  I had seen the great new Gundam designs in the models I put together and couldn't wait to see how the pilots would get those new robots and how the story would unfold.  Man, was I let down.  Right off the bat, this movie ticked me off by introducing the new robots as if they already existed in the series.  I guess the filmmakers figured that the upgraded second series designs for the Gundams in the series weren't different enough.  Don't get me wrong, I was happy to see the new robots, I was just hoping to see some explanation of where they came from.  Instead, they simply rewrote the history of the series...never a good idea.

Add to that the fact that the bad guys were headed up by a little girl.  Five tough guys in giant robots versus a little girl's army.  C'mon man.  What the heck were they thinking?  I waited through way too much time until the Gundam pilots finally got to their robots and made paste out of the enemy.  Was that a spoiler?  Well, not really.  Sorry though.
All in all, Endless Waltz was a massive disappointment.  There were good things about it, but it just wasn't up to snuff.  I almost wish it didn't happen so that I could remember the original ending more clearly.  I thought the original was a good enough note to leave on anyway.
